Activities: We held our eighth annual induction program on Thursday, December 1, 2016, when the Chapter Adviser, Professor Donna Beers, gave a short talk, "Put a Little Magic in Your Life...with Magic Squares." On Thursday, December 8, 2016, we held our third annual program, Promoting Scholarship and Mathematics. This year's presentation was given by Pi Mu Epsilon member Kai Lei, a member of the Class of 2017 who is double-majoring in Mathematics and Biostatistics. The title of Kai Lei's presentation was "Describing Trends and Variations in the Use of Intravenous Versus Oral Acetaminophen in Pediatric Hospitals" and it was based on a research project to which she contributed during her internship at Boston Children's Hospital during Fall, 2016.

Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present at the PME National Meeting this year? No

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduations? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences, etc.
Kai Lei (Class of 2017) was accepted into the Masters degree program in Biostatistics at Oregon Health & Science University. Meghan Fotak (Class of 2017) was accepted into the Masters degree program in Mathematics at the University of Waterloo.

If you were awarded a PME Lectureship, Conference, or Prize Grant within the past year, please briefly describe the results.
