New York Alpha Pi instituted a mentorship program with the goal of connecting new mathematics majors with chapter members. An enthusiastic panel discussion was held in late spring.

Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present at the PME National Meeting this year? Chapter president Kristen Sandberg delivered a talk in the Pi Mu Epsilon session of Mathfest in Washington DC: "A staged progression epidemiological model with deceased-infectious class." Kristen gratefully acknowledges support received from PME and the MAA.

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduations? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences, etc.
Two 2015 graduates began work in PhD programs: outgoing president Heather Muchowski at Iowa State University, and Kyle Teller at the University of New Hampshire.

If you were awarded a PME Lectureship, Conference, or Prize Grant within the past year, please briefly describe the results.
