Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:
On April 3, 2007, our chapter, in conjunction with the Gordon Lecture Series, brought mathematician and artis George Hart to campus. He made an evening presentation for the campus at large, and the following day, for a select group of Denison math students, he worked to help them construct their own geometric sculpture out of CDs and wire ties. Earlier in the fall semester, our chapter had a Halloween pumpkin-carving contest. We had numerous entries and lots of fun judging.
Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in San Jose, California?

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :
David Nassar, past chapter President, will be attending the University of Akron to obtain his Master’s degree in applied math. Evan Starr will be attending the University of Michigan to obtain his Ph.D. in economics, and Megan Warner will be attending UC Irvine for a Ph.D. in physical chemistry with a concentration in chemical and materials physics. Pam Arbisi will be going to William and Mary to study operations research, and she(a graduating senior), along with Nicole Scholtz (current junior), and Amanda Moore (current junior) presented on their summer research in the MAA state conference at Miami University (Ohio); Joanna Kreiselman (sophomore), Amanda Moore, Heather Kincaid, Pam Arbisi, and Nicole Scholtz all attended Nebraska Conference for Undergraduate Women in Mathematics (NCUWM) this February, with Nicole, Amanda, and Pam additionally presenting their summer research there. Nicole will be doing research at the Center for Discrete Mathematics and Theortical Computer Science (DIMACS) this summer, and Joanna has received a Bowen Summer Research Assistantship to study cryptological number theory and develop computer programs to factor large integers efficiently. Sam Behrend (sophomore) will be involved with a summer REU at NC State with their Industrial/Applied Mathematics department, and finally, Rachel Grotheer (junior) will be conducting research this summer on knots in straight edge embeddings of K7.
