The Ohio Theta Chapter inducted seven new members in the fall of 2007, five students and two faculty members. The seven senior chapter members are in the process of presenting their research endeavors to faculty and students. Their research topics include set theory, modeling, applied mathematics, statistics, and the history of mathematics. Three menbers had notable accomplishments. James McShane and Karen Moelius were each on MCM modeling teams that received honorable mention. Brandon Weislak contributed a paper at the undergraduate mathematics conference at St. Norbert’s College in November , 2007.

Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in Madison, Wisconsin?

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :

Maureen Sartor received a Ph.D. in biostatistics at the University of Cincinnati. She has accepted a faculty position at the University of Michigan.
