Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

Our chapter again co-sponsored the Northwest Undergraduate Mathematics Symposium at OSU. We also had Prof. Hal Parks speak at this year’s PME induction ceremony.

Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the 2009 PME national meeting at MathFest in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania?

At least one member will be attending (via an REU program).

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates, for example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences?

Not of significance.

If you were awarded a PME Lectureship, Conference, or Prize Grant within the past year, please briefly describe the results.

$100 was used to partially fund the NUMS conference mentioned above. Details on the conference can be found at the website: http://people.oregonstate.edu/studentgroups/pme/nums $50 prize grant was offered to students who solved the most Monthy Problem Solving Competition problems. Unfortunately there were unsufficient entries this year, so part of the prize grant was used to offer a presentation award during NUMS specifically for OSU students.
