Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

1) Pi Mu Epsilon Student members provide tutoring throughout the year in the departmental student lounge.

2)The initiation banquet afforded the opportunity for several alumni to attend and, in addition, remembrances were given for two former faculty who died in summer and fall 2006 (Col. Michael Buckley [age 104] and Prof. Paul Halmos [age 90]).

Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in San Jose, California?

Some of the faculty may attend MathFest. As of mid-May, we are uncertain whether any student members may be able to attend (the event occurs right in the middle of the summer break!).

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :

Several alumni are in graduate school: 3 at UCLA, one at U of Colorado, one at UC Irvine, one at Berkeley, one at Texas-Austin.
