Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

1) The chapter members participated this year in helping to organize the departmental speaker series.

2)This is the first time in my memory that we have had a active chapter (ie a membership that did not graduate immediately after induction.

Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in San Jose, California?

Mimi Tsuruga will present at MathFest. Her paper is titled "Visualizing Vortices".

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :

Victor Alvarez is receiving his BA. He will begin study in the doctoral program in Mathematics at the CUNY Grad Center. Bolanle Bob-Egbe is receiving her BA in Mathematics and MA in Applied Mathematics. She will be taking a position in finance with a local NYC firm.Natalya Titova is receiving her BA and will continue her study toward an MA in Statistics.Yevgeniy Millman is participating this summer in an REU at University of Akron in Nano Technology.Mimi Tsuruga has a summer internship at Wolfram Research.
