Activities: Origami Volume Calculations. We learned two ways to make origami boxes. Then we did the algebra to calculate the volume of the boxes given the size of the flat paper rectangle used to make the box. Then we verified our calculations with our example boxes. Lots of opportunities for joking and talking while did all the steps. Student research talks were good. We had two, with good attendance from students and math faculty. (No outside disciplines showed up, what a surprise.)

Noah Davis (member) and Kyle Jansens spoke at the Rose-Hulman Undergraduate Math Conference, April 2015. They described how to square the circle in the two disk models of non-Euclidean geometries.
