Activities: YSU hosted Mathfest where local high schools are invited to spend a day with YSU math department faculty and students, along with participating in various math competitions. Pi Mu Epsilon members are responsible for hosting workshops and grading competition papers. Also, YSU PME hosted our regional conference, where students are given an opportunity to present their research. YSU PME members are responsible for planning and running the conference.

Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present at the PME National Meeting this year? YSU has a major presence at the PME National Meetings. There will be YSU PME students giving presentations at the upcoming event.

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduations? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences, etc.
Jenna Wise: recent graduate: Goldwater scholarship, National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, Studies at Carnegie Mellon University. Monica Busser: recent graduate: University of Virginia to pursue Ph.D. in mathematics. Gabbie Van Scoy: Pursuing a Ph.D. in mathematics at the University of Kentucky. Jenna Wise: recent graduate: Summer internship at IBM Research, Doctoral program at Carnegie Mellon University in Software Engineering.

YSU PME was granted funds from YSU Student Government Association in order to host the regional conference.
