Activities: We held our annual math contest in March. PME awarded us a matching grant to fund the prize for this contest.

Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present at the PME National Meeting this year? 

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduations? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences, etc.
Our former president, Callie Reid, is attending graduate school at Florida State University. She is in the doctorate program for mathematical biology. She was awarded a teaching assistantship. Another former president, Jasmine Freeman, will be attending graduate school at the University of Georgia, where she will be pursuing her Ph.D. in physics. She was awarded a teaching assistantship. Two of our members, Jasmine Freeman and Timothy Smith, were part of a 3-person team that competed in SCUDEM, an international DE modeling contest. They received a meritorious award for their results. Two of our new inductees, Lauren Taunton and Sarah Glass, presented their research on the use of origami to teach geometry. The presented at the Valdosta State University undergraduate research symposium.
