2003 – Robert Woodside
The C. C. MacDuffee Award for Distinguished service was presented to Robert Woodside on August 1, 2003 at the annual meeting of Pi Mu Epsilon in Boulder, Colorado.
Bob has served Pi Mu Epsilon for many years and in many significant ways. As advisor for the North Carolina Delta PME chapter at East Carolina University, he prepared a steady stream of student speakers for the national meetings. Starting in 1975 he served two three-year terms as National Councilor for Pi Mu Epsilon. Then, starting in 1987, he spent fifteen years as national Secretary-Treasurer of the organization.
Bob has served Pi Mu Epsilon long, and he has served it well. Presenting the award, past-president Rick Poss recalls from his term as President of Pi Mu Epsilon that there were many times that Bob would gently remind him of activities that he was supposed to be taking care of. Bob preferred not to call attention to himself, but rather, to just make sure that things got done.
We are pleased and proud to present Pi Mu Epsilon’s C. C. MacDuffee Award for Distinguished Service to Robert Woodside.
