Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

1) After several years of inactivity, our chapter was reactivated on January 26 by PME Council member Brigitte Servatius, Professor of Mathematical Sciences at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Prof. Servatius gave an engaging talk titled “A beautiful mind and hyperperfect numbers.”

2)Faculty member Jim Propp gave a talk on April 11 titled “Better than Random: A Hands-On Introduction to Quasirandomness.”

Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in San Jose, California?

Jason Percival and Michael Williams each plan to present a paper.
