Activities: We had Dr. Edray Goins present on how scholars and students have recorded the histories of hundreds of African Americans in mathematics, computer science, and physics to showcase the intellectual prowess of those from the African Diaspora. We had Dr. Talitha Washington present on what happens if data science develops technology that amplifies bias and racism? She shared her vision of how we can bring true validity into data science. Dr. Washington also presented on her decision to become a mathematician despite obstacles.
