Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:
1) Students of Pi Mu Epsilon made a presentation titled “Revolutions in Mathematical History: From Zero to Infinity” at an on-campus conference. Student presenters were Amanda Bettinger, Anthony Franklin, and Thomas Whitt. Topics covered in the presentation were the history of the number 0, irrational numbers including the square root of 2 and the Golden Ratio, and complex numbers including their use in generating fractals.
2)Pi Mu Epsilon hosted two Math Jeopardy events on campus. Students came, played Jeopardy, and had refreshments.
Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in San Jose, California?

1) Jayson Burak graduated in August 2006. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.2) Kamala Hunt Diefenthaler graduated in December 2006. She will be attending graduate school at the University of South Carolina.3) Thomas R. Whitt is graduating in May 2007. He will be attending graduate school at Auburn University.4) Anthony Franklin is graduating in May 2007. He will be attending graduate school at North Carolina State University.
