Activities: Many (66) students helped at the Texas A&M's Math and Stat Fair at a variety of activities, from mathematical magic tricks to a problem-solving competition for middle and high school students. Our regular meetings alternated between lectures on topics such as matroids to more "fun" activities such as a Jeopardy night featuring questions on mathematical trivia and estimathon-style problems.
Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present at the PME National Meeting this year? There are multiple members conducting undergraduate research in the summer of 2026, so based on this (and historical attendance) it seems probable that we will have around 5-10 students present results at JMM in January 2027.
Do you have any news about current students or recent graduations? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences, etc.
Many members presented research findings at several venues, including the August 2025 MAA MathFest in Sacramento, CA in August 2025. The math club co-hosted the Mathematics Undergraduate Research Symposium on October 6, 2025 in the Mathematics Department a poster presentation where twelve presented their research. TAMU Mathematics undergraduates were out in force at the Joint Mathematics Meetings in Washington, D.C. in January 2026. Eight students presented posters of their work and seven gave a talk. Six students gave talks and presented posters at the 2026 LSU-UH-TAMU undergraduate mathematics conference at LSU on April 11-12, 2026.
If you were awarded a PME Lectureship, Conference, or Prize Grant within the past year, please briefly describe the results.
