Activities: 1. Thanks to a conference grant from Pi Mu Epsilon, we were able to continue our TROY MathFest undergraduate mathematics conference. This was our 11th such conference. This year, we had about 80 participants. There were participants from 5 different institutions. Activities included the following: Talks by undergraduates (and 1 graduate), a poster session, calculus competition, a Pi Mu Epsilon discussion forum (discussed issues in getting involved in undergraduate research, working on problems, etc.), and invited speaker Professor Vitaly Voloshin, pioneer of Mixed Hypergraph Coloring. His talk was entitled "History of the most Famous Error in Graph Theory." Lunch and refreshments were provided for all participants. 2. We had "Math Game Night." The members brought and played board games, such as Yahtzee, Connect 4, Monopoly, and other games.
Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present at the PME National Meeting this year? Yes, we have one student planning on attending.
Do you have any news about current students or recent graduations? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences, etc.
Recent graduates:
1. Brooke Maae, Brandon Tkac, James Nichols are attending graduate school at the University of South Alabama.
2. Justin Huval, Tabitha Turner, and Elizabeth Brazier are attending graduate school at Auburn University.
