Activities: We managed to organize an in-person mathematics conference before the closure, MCCNNY 2020.

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduations? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences, etc.
1. Daniel T. Fuller is a PhD student in statistics, who passed his qualify exams in 2019.
2. Isabella F Grasso of Potsdam, NY, received a bachelor of science with great distinction in data science, from Clarkson University in May.
3. Isabella Grasso of Portland, ME., received the Frederica Clarkson Award during Clarkson University's spring 2021 commencement ceremony. She was selected for the $1,000 award by a vote of the full University faculty based on her scholarship and promise of outstanding achievement.
4. Isabella Grasso has been awarded National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowships (GRFP). She plans to complete graduate work toward a Ph.D. in Information Science at the University of Washington where she will be working at the Center for an Informed Public, whose mission is to combat strategic misinformation and promote democratic discourse. She is broadly interested in studying how people talk about sexual violence in online communities and is interested in combatting rape culture.
5. Isabel Dengos receives a Master Degree in Mathematics from Clarkson University.

Mathematics Conference and Competition of Northern New York (MCCNNY) 2020 was held at Clarkson University on Feb 29, 2020 before spring break and pandemic closure of the university. The organizing Committee consists Prof. Guangming Yao, Prof. Joel Foisy, Prof. Blair Madore, Mr. Jesse Clark-Stone, Prof. Daniel Look. The conference was partially supported by PME Conference Grant and Student Prize Grant. The conference offered two keynote presentations offered by Dr. Ivan Ramler, St. Lawrence University(Title of the talk: How Data Science Makes Me a Better Gamer) and Dr. Jeff Weeks (American mathematician, a geometric topologist and cosmologist, 1999 MacArthur Fellow. His talk is entitled: Non-Euclidean Billiards). Overall, over 41 conference attendees from four associated colleges (including Clarkson University, St Lawrence University, SUNY Potsdam and SUNY Canton). Two panel discussions on Undergraduate Research and Career are delivered by formal and current students from the Associated Colleges of St. Lawrence Valley during lunch time. Conference participants enjoyed Dr. Jeff Weeks' virtual games. Ten (10) student oral presentations and 5 student poster presentations were delivered. Three (3) oral presentation prizes and 3 poster presentation prizes were offered at the end of the conference together with Trivia/Jeopardy game by students and hosted by Prof. Blair Madore. It was a great success for our local students.
