Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:
To accompany the excitement with the recent election, a presentation was given by Dr. Zoran Sunik involving the mathematics of different voting/election strategies. It was a great promotion of the election and a very interesting speech. Another presentation was given by Dr. Sarah Witherspoon about knots and the Jone’s Polynomial. It was a unique talk that described the mathematics behind the ability or inability of an individual to untie certain knots.
