The 2021 Pi Mu Epsilon (PME) National Meeting will be held at the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) virtual MathFest conference on August 4-7, 2021.
Application and Registration
With approval from their Chapter Advisor, PME student members wishing to attend the National Meeting at MathFest may do so as a Speaker, giving an oral presentation (note, attending as a non-presenting Delegate is not an option this year):
- Apply to be a PME Speaker; make sure to follow all directions on that page.
- The deadline is Friday, June 11, 2021. We will send an abstract acceptance notice shortly after this deadline.
- PME will register you for the conference and pay your registration fee. Therefore you should not register on the MAA website.
Funding Policies
Below are policies regarding funding to the PME Conference at MathFest.
- Only PME Speakers are eligible for funding, and only when they have been initiated and have paid membership dues by June 1, 2021.
- No student may apply for funding from both PME and the MAA.
- Speakers are required to attend events throughout the entire Conference, including the following:
- The J. Sutherland Frame Lecture on Wednesday afternoon.
- Pi Mu Epsilon Student Paper Sessions on Wednesday through Saturday.
- The Pi Mu Epsilon Awards Session on Saturday afternoon.
- Speakers who do not attend one of the above events must obtain, prior to the Conference, an exemption from the PME President.
- Speakers are encouraged to attend MathFest student events which do not conflict with the above obligations.
