Activities: 1. The 12th Annual Pi Mu Epsilon Lecture was given on Friday, October 11, 2019 by professor Joseph Gallian, the Morse Alumni Distinguished University Professor of Teaching in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Minnesota Duluth. His presentation was titled “Using Mathematics to Create Symmetry Patterns”. More details on this lecture, including a detailed abstract can be found on our web page http://www.math.unl.edu/math-club/pme/lecture A picture of the new inductees with Prof. Gallian accompanies this report. 2. On Thursday, January 16, 2020 the chapter hosted an information session on research programs for undergraduates, including a panel discussion with undergraduate students who have participate din research programs in the previous years. This event was very well received by the audience.

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduations? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences, etc.
The following students will start graduate programs in the fall of 2020: - Jared Ott - Applied Mathematics and Scientific Computing PhD at the University of Maryland The following students will participate in REU programs in summer 2020: - Allison Cruikshank - REU program organized by the University of Indiana
