Activities: The annual Pi Mu Epsilon Lecture was held in conjunction with the Induction Ceremony. The talk, titled "The Mathematics of Medical Imaging" was given by Sarah Hamilton ’07 Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Marquette University. It was very special having an alumna of the College return to give this address, particularly since Sarah was Co-President of this Pi Mu Epsilon chapter in 2006-07. A highlight is the September Math Colloquium featuring presentations by students who participated in summer research projects or internships, among them were PME members: Mariah Boudreau’19 - “Dartmouth Research Experience: Variations of the MMV Problem”; Lillian Richardson ‘20 – “Summer Intern: SIU”; Hattie Wilczewski ‘20 – “Colorado Summer Institute in Biostatistics”

Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present at the PME National Meeting this year? No

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduations? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences, etc.
Brittany Baker ’11 (Co-President of VT Alpha 2010-11) completed her Ph.D. in Mathematics at the University of Minnesota. Thomas Dickerson’13 completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science at Brown University. Mariah Boudreau’19 received the Outstanding Senior in Mathematics award. She will pursue graduate studies in mathematics and data science at the University of Vermont.

If you were awarded a PME Lectureship, Conference, or Prize Grant within the past year, please briefly describe the results.
