Activities: The annual Pi Mu Epsilon Lecture was held in conjunction with the Induction Ceremony. Our speaker was Dr. Brittany Baker ’11 who gave a talk entitled “How Network Structure Influences Neuronal Activity”. It was very special having a graduate of the College return to give this address, particularly since Brittany was Co-President of this Pi Mu Epsilon chapter in 2010-11. A highlight is the September Math Colloquium featuring presentations by students who participated in summer research projects or internships, among them were PME members: Edward Rankin ’21 – “Building Business Intelligence at DealerPolicy”; Lillian Richardson ’20 – “Data Analytics Internship at National Life”; Hattie Wilczewski ’20 – “NSF REU at Rice University: Researching Personality and Cognitive Ability as Predictors of Usability”; Rebecca Stouges ’19 – “Engineering Internship with a Focus on Environmental Compliance for Walden Environmental Engineering”; Maura Verrill ’20 – “Software Development at VIP: My Summer Internship”; Kayla Carew ’20 and Morgan Zifchak ’20 – “Teaching Middle School Math: Breakthrough Experiences”; Isabella Cigna ’20 – “Summer Internship at Kronos Incorporated: Working with Data for Talent Acquisitions”.

Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present at the PME National Meeting this year?

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduations? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences, etc.

If you were awarded a PME Lectureship, Conference, or Prize Grant within the past year, please briefly describe the results.
